⏰ TIME RUNS OUT FOR TEXAS ANTI-TRANSGENDER SPORTS BAN BILL: “Bills like SB 29 demonstrate the petty and cruel ways that Texas officials use the lives of trans kids to score political points without regard to the actual human impact,” said HRC Texas State Director Rebecca Marques (@_RebeccaMarques, she/her). “Texas legislators introduced more than two dozen discriminatory anti-LGBTQ bills, more than in any other state this year. Passing discriminatory legislation is a time-consuming endeavor, and the Texas legislature certainly has better uses for its time, especially this year.” More from HRC.
MAINE LAWMAKERS COME TOGETHER IN SUPPORT OF LGBTQ YOUTH’S MENTAL HEALTH: As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to an end and we enter into Pride Month, Maine lawmakers created a video to support the LGBTQ community. “No one should feel that suicide is their only option, but the sad truth is that far too many teenagers who identify as LGBTQ are struggling and do not feel safe or welcome,” the Maine Delegation said.
