Here are the events planned for Pride Month in Sacramento – KCRA Sacramento

Although the Sacramento Pride March and Festival will not take place in its traditional format this year, there are several events planned this month to celebrate the city’s LGBTQ community.”The health and safety of our community is our top priority and while we are encouraged by lower COVID-19 infection rates and an increase in vaccinations, the Pride March and Festival require many months of planning and there is still too much uncertainty to safely gather tens of thousands of people as we did prior to the pandemic,” David Heitstuman, CEO of the Sacramento LGBT Community Center, said in a prepared statement.However, those wanting to celebrate Pride Month in the Sacramento area will have the opportunity to do so with a slew of events, the community center says.Here are some of the Pride events happening in Sacramento during the month of June:Progress Pride Flag RaisingWhen: Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at 8:30 a.m.Where: Sacramento City HallInfo: The Progress Pride flag will go up at Sacramento City Hall.Vaccination EventWhen: Wednesday, June 2 from 5 to 8 p.m.Where: Sacramento LGBT Community Center, MidtownInfo: You can get your COVID-19 vaccination at the Sacramento LGBT Community Center. Although the Sacramento Pride March and Festival will not take place in its traditional format this year, there are several events planned this month to celebrate the city’s LGBTQ community.
