HRC MOURNS THOMAS HARDIN, BLACK TRANSGENDER WOMAN KILLED IN SOUTH CAROLINA: HRC is deeply saddened to learn of the death of Thomas Hardin, a 35-year-old Black transgender woman, who was killed on May 2 in York, South Carolina. “In May alone, we know of the violent deaths of at least eight transgender or gender non-conforming people. This level of violence is both heartbreaking and horrifying. None of these individuals, including Thomas Hardin, deserved to have their lives cut short,” said HRC Director of Community Engagement for the Transgender Justice Initiative Tori Cooper (@MsToriCooper1, she/her). “Our hearts go out to all of her friends, family and community.
